Ms Tan Sock Joo was appointed Divisional Director for the Transport and Logistics Division of International Enterprise (IE) Singapore on 1 December 2016
IE Singapore is the government agency that promotes international trade and partners Singapore companies to go global. It has a network across more than 35 locations worldwide, with a strong presence in Southeast Asia, China, India, and many emerging markets.
As Divisional Director of Transport and Logistics (T&L) Division, Ms Tan oversees the Logistics; eCommerce Fulfilment; Aviation; Maritime and Land Transport sectors; and leads a Division to help Singapore companies in the T&L sectors to actualize their overseas expansion plans. Particularly for the eCommerce fulfilment, Ms Tan and her team partner Singapore companies to develop and grow cross-border eCommerce, especially in Asia Pacific region.
Ms Tan started her career with IE Singapore in 2005 in the Events Management Division. In 2008, Ms Tan was transferred to the China Group, where she worked closely with key government agencies and companies to conceptualize and pilot projects. In 2012, she assumed the role of Divisional Director of China Group. In 2014, she was appointed Divisional Director for Enterprise Services Division, where she leads a team to provide advice and facilitation for the SMEs’ internationalization journey.
Ms Tan graduated from Curtin University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing and Management. She is fluent in both Mandarin and English.
