5 March, 2015 (Singapore) - The inaugural Last Mile Fulfilment Asia (LMFAsia), to be held from 19-20 March at MAX Atria @ Singapore EXPO, promises to feature some leading brands in the conference and exhibition that brings together retail, eCommerce, logistics and parcel companies from the fulfilment industry across the Asia Pacific region.
Organised by SingEx Exhibitions with the Economic Development Board (EDB) of Singapore as a strategic partner, LMFAsia 2015 will be focusing on the challenges and opportunities in the eCommerce and fulfilment industries and seeks to maximise the potential for collaborative business opportunities within the region. Themed “eCommerce Beyond Borders”, the conference will be featuring a line-up of over 70 speakers from established organisations.
Malcolm Monteiro, the Asia Pacific CEO for DHL eCommerce will open the conference with a keynote pertaining to the fragmented state of the last mile fulfilment sector and will highlight common issues and challenges, along with the massive opportunities arising from the changing consumer and eCommerce landscape. Monteiro says, “The anticipated growth in the Asian e-commerce market will largely depend on innovative solutions in logistical systems and infrastructure. DHL has a proven track record in developing those innovations and I am truly looking forward to inspiring discussions with other leaders in the e-commerce field during this conference."
Marcelo, CEO of SP eCommerce, a Singapore Post Group company, will shed perspectives on how to accelerate eCommerce business in Asia. Marcelo makes the observation that “Asia Pacific is the fastest growing region in the global eCommerce landscape. Most brands and retailers are looking for avenues to enter this high potential market in a sustainable and effective manner. The region’s markets are disparate and fragmented, with varying regulations and consumer behaviours which require eCommerce businesses to carefully develop the right market entry strategy.”
Sundeep Malhotra, Founder and CEO of Homeshop18 in India will share a retailer’s perspective of the omni-channel retail and distribution model, illustrating how to address the challenges faced by fulfilment partners for rapid growth and flexible scalability. Another retailer, Ronan Hurley, Chief Operating Officer of Luxola will share a view of the opportunities for new market entrants including faster delivery services and integrated brand experiences.
The conference also features a series of panel discussions and breakout sessions. The panel discussions aim to identify and address common challenges across the region, seeking to build dialogue and opportunities between retailers, brands, logistics and fulfilment houses. The breakout sessions follow two tracks; one has a regional Asian ‘country focus’ and the other a ‘commerce and solutions’ track which will explore various models of fulfillment.
Additionally, the flagship event of the eCommerce industry, Internet Retailer Conference+Exhibition (IRCE) will host a complementary track at LMFAsia as part of the partnership. The IRCE is the world’s largest eCommerce event that delivers world-class industry expertise and forums to connect 10,000 senior-level industry peers and partners from around the world for more than 10 years. The IRCE track will offer retailers and new entrants key insights on eCommerce retailing challenges and attested strategies to succeed in the China market.
